Which cookies do we actually set?
We group our cookies into four buckets. Strictly necessary cookies keep you logged in, remember the items in your bonus queue and prevent cross site request forgery during checkout. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site, and they do not need consent under privacy law because they only do what you need them to do to use the site. Functional cookies remember your language preference, your favourite games and your chip stack defaults on the live tables. Analytics cookies count visits and measure how features are used, with all identifiers hashed at collection. Marketing cookies are only set if you give explicit consent on the cookie banner.
Each cookie has a name, a purpose, a lifespan and a controller listed in the full cookie register on this page. The register is updated whenever a new cookie is introduced and audited annually. If you ever spot a cookie on the site that is not in the register, contact privacy@slotsofvegas.live and we will treat it as a security incident and either document it or remove it depending on the source.
How do you control them?
On your first visit, the cookie banner shows the four categories with a simple accept all, reject non essential, or customise. Your choice is saved as a small cookie that lasts twelve months, after which the banner appears again so you can refresh the decision. You can change the choice at any point from the cookie settings link in the footer of every page on the site, and the new selection takes effect immediately. Switching off analytics or marketing cookies clears any existing identifiers we hold on that browser.
Most browsers also let you control cookies at the browser level. Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all have settings to block third party cookies, clear cookies on close, or block cookies from a specific domain. The browser controls are useful as a belt and braces approach on a shared device. Bear in mind that blocking strictly necessary cookies at the browser level will break the login flow on the site, so the in site banner is usually the better tool for our cookies specifically.
Are there third party cookies on this site?
Yes, but only a small handful and only for clearly defined purposes. Our live chat widget sets cookies to remember the conversation thread between page loads. Our payment processors set cookies on the cashier pages to keep the payment session secure. Our anti fraud system sets a device identification cookie during high risk actions like withdrawals or password resets. Each third party is listed in the cookie register on this page with the purpose, the lifespan and a direct link to the provider's own privacy policy.
We do not use third party retargeting cookies that follow you around the web to show advertising for Slots of Vegas on other sites. If you have ever seen an advert for us elsewhere it was placed through audience matching on the advertising platform itself rather than through a cookie we set on your browser. The distinction is technical but important: it means closing your account and clearing your browser is enough to stop you encountering us in your advertising, which is not always the case in this industry.
What if you do nothing about the banner?
If you close the cookie banner without making a choice, only strictly necessary cookies are set and the rest remain off. We do not interpret silence as consent and we do not pre tick the non essential boxes. The banner reappears on the next visit until you make an active choice, which keeps the consent record honest and gives you control without forcing you to engage with the banner immediately if you would rather just sign in and play.
Our analytics provider runs in a mode that respects the consent state of every request, which means a session from a player who refused analytics generates no events and no identifiers on our side. The same applies to the live chat widget when the chat is not actively in use, and to any future tools we add. The principle is simple: nothing optional runs without an active yes from you on the device you are using right now.
Mobile and progressive web app behaviour
Our site runs as a progressive web app on mobile, which means the same cookie rules apply whether you visit through the browser, the home screen icon or a deep link from an email. If you install the home screen icon, the cookies live in the same browser sandbox as the regular site, so clearing browser data clears the app data too. There is no separate app cache or hidden cookie store, and there is nothing the home screen install does that the regular browser visit does not.
If you switch between mobile and desktop, the consent choice does not follow you across devices because cookies are device specific by design. You will see the banner again on the new device and can make the choice that suits the situation. Some players choose to allow analytics on desktop and refuse it on mobile, or vice versa, and the system handles that without difficulty.
Local storage and other non cookie tracking
Alongside cookies, modern browsers offer local storage, session storage and IndexedDB. We use local storage to cache your favourites and the recently played list, which makes the lobby load faster on a repeat visit. We use session storage for short lived UI state such as the open category and the current scroll position. We do not use IndexedDB. None of these are tracking mechanisms in the cookie sense, but they are still data on your device and we list them in the same register on this page so the picture is complete.
Clearing browser data clears all three at once, the same way it would for cookies. If you only want to clear the cached favourites without losing the login, the simplest path is to sign out, clear the site data through the browser, then sign back in. Our support team can also clear cached state from our side if a stuck favourite or a stale category filter is making the lobby behave oddly, which is the kind of housekeeping that is much faster from the back end than through repeated browser resets.
Updates and contact
We review this policy whenever a new cookie or storage mechanism is introduced and at minimum once a year. The version date is shown at the bottom of this page. When a change is material we will reset the banner so you can review the new register and renew or refuse consent. Minor wording updates that do not change which cookies are set or which third parties are involved do not trigger a banner reset.
For any cookie or tracking related question, the right contact is privacy@slotsofvegas.live. For broader privacy queries see the Privacy Policy page, which covers the wider data protection picture. For complaints that have not been resolved by the standard channels, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner accepts referrals; their details are linked in the footer along with the gambling regulator who oversees this casino.
